Congratulations Ms. Lopez!
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I got a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Spanish Literature from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. After college, I worked in a variety of companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Intel Corp, and Gerber in various roles within the Human Resources Department. In 1998, I co-founded Momentum LTDG, a leadership training company working with the general public. I traveled extensively in this role to Spain, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia and Mexico, as well as various states in the continental USA and I also obtained a certification as Life Coach.
In 2014, a relocation to Houston also brought a decision to transition from teaching adults to teaching children. Recognizing that teaching is what I love the most, this change was a natural thing to do. I love creating a safe and visually enticing space for my kids to learn and explore the many approaches to solve a problem. In many ways I support them in seeing themselves as future leaders. This is accomplished by cultivating kindness, team spirit, and intellectual curiosity. I want to think that this is my legacy and contribution, small as it may be.
